Provided Services
Support service is a mandatory issue which directly involve in holistic development of the vulnerable community people for their better upliftment of livelihood status. In this regard cash and asset transfer can play a vital role to change their mind set and lifestyle.
So far INDAB provided services at its organizational and community level which are described in qualitative and quantitative manner in the following texts :
Quanlitative
Training:
INDAB's endeavor is to develop the capacity of its beneficiaries, so that they could be an effective human resource for rebuilding the community from the organization point of view. This is why INDAB has been conducting some training programs from its inception such as awareness training, general skills training, agricultural skill training, health awareness training, health skill training etc. As a result people are now much more aware about their duties & rights. Among them 35% people are imposing their effort to help the disadvantage population through maintaining communication with the proper channel. On the other hand 30% of the beneficiaries are able to enter sustainable livelihood as they developed their skills in the sector of agriculture, livestock , poultry and duck rearing ,pond fishery, home stead grading etc . The consequence is that the community is changing with confident & people including the beneficiary are moving with their strong level of developed capacity.
Health:
INDAB emphasize on health sector one of the priorities basis, in connection with that INDAB has put forward immense health service activities for the community in the working area. As a result 40 % of the community people's health is more secured than ever before. The consequences of health activities help to reduce the child mortality, increased hygienic behavior, tendency of breastfeeding is growing, no HIV positive patient are identified and the number of malnourished child reduced. Besides this for lunching different health related intervention such as rally, folk show , campaign , medical camp, satellite clinic which eventually has changed the attitude of the community people in their traditional backwardness. As a result their expenditure on health has reduced and they are now living in health friendly environment.
Staff Development Training:
INDAB conducted various training program to strengthen the capacity of its staffs which ultimately geared up a set of effective human resource. As a result they turn into more adept for performing the duties, enhance the responsibilities for doing the positive activities to the beneficiaries and more alert to carry out organizational responsibilities.
Education Program:
INDAB become successful to back the drop out adolescent in the mainstream primary education. The adolescent are familiar with family life education which assists them to lead in future. They expertise in cocking balance food, know-how about reproductive health and other adolescent thematic activities. Besides this adult literacy program influence the adult folk to change their mind set to involve educating their children rather than going to work.
Rally and Day Observation:
INDAB celebrate various Day observations and rally to mark's the day's significant learning. As a result the community's people can easily understand the importance of day and learn some things from that day observation and their behavior have been changing from the context of the marking day
Folk - culture show:
INDAB folk culture group focuses on its show against the prevailing various social superstition. Resulting the early marriage, dowry, violence against women, divorce has been reducing gradually from the community and the social integrity, human dignity are alarming as flame for positive changing the society.
Workshop:
INDAB is working for developing the community collaborating with the civil society, local government, upazilla administration this why all stakeholder have to need the program related knowledge, from this context INDAB arrange issue base several workshop to disseminate message as well as knowledge. As a result coordination has increased among the community to introduce social development. Public administration and the common people come near to work together. People are easily getting services from the local administration and LEB (Local Elective Body). Social responsibilities of local administration and other stakeholder is now at satisfactory level
CMDRR activity:
Though CMDRR is a new concept appear to INDAB in terms of disaster risk reduction nevertheless this idea had introduced with its program in 1998 as Disaster Risk Management (DRM ).The beneficiaries are more adept on knowing the CMDRR thematic activities such as disaster coping mechanism, climate change adaptation ,community risk assessment, contingency planning and development planning. So they are performing positive role to minimize with adverse situation occurred by disaster and try to move environment friendly circumstances. In addition INDAB also has given preference to enlighten the school going students about negative impact of climate change and its effect so that they could persuade to aware their families as well as the community. As a result the community gradually move to build up a disaster resilience society.
DRR materials distribution:
By the proper use of DRR materials the community is more secured from the disaster vulnerabilities. Community people are now taking precautionary measures and rescue operation with having the DRR materials. As a result the risk of the disaster is reducing at satisfactory levels.
Hardware Support:
The support including deep tube well, sanitary latrine, dumping pit, sapling & nursery plot has brought several changes in the working area toward safe water, health, hygienic behavior and social forestry. The ultimate result is that the safe water options ensured for the beneficiaries , water born diseases are eradicated, they are living with healthy & clean environment , podium bio manure which effecting social frosty .As a result community people are moving with dignity and growing in a harmonious way ever before.
Civil Society
INDAB formed civil society platform with a view to establish the rights of destitute people of the community. They are moving in favor of the destitute people to restore their human rights by advocating with the concern person and department. As a result the beneficiaries are getting the government safety nets services such as VGA card, old age card, widow card etc and gradually poverty of the beneficiaries is alleviating.
Emergency Response:
INDAB organized several disaster responsive program particularly in Sidr and Aila .
In the period of emergency INDAB support to its beneficiaries in cash , survival food and materials , house recovery materials , latrine recovery , cloths ,warm-cloths , boat and nets. As a result backing from the vulnerable situation people can easily enter into their livelihood again and sustained.
IGA:
INDAB believe that emergency response is only for the time being activities but the sustainable development of its beneficiaries is long cherished desire so INDAB undertook the reconstruction activities as apart of these income generating activities through allocating cash for enhancing the small business, agriculture , livestock, poultry and duck rearing , rice grinding , pond fishery, handicrafts etc. The consequence is that the poverty is in some way alleviate from this community and people are living with sustainable livelihood.
